In 2008, electronic producer, Jay Sustain joined forces with world renowned cellist, Dave Eggar, taking the music into a new realm of quality & fusion. Dave's classical cello experience over Jay's electronic wizardry, makes Blue Massive among the most unique bands in the world. In 2010, Blue Massive Music, a publishing company was formed through ASCAP, and is home to the band's productions.
Jay Sustain is an electronic music Producer, Remixer, & DJ, based out of New Orleans, LA. Many of his productions are released in the Techno/House world. He's best known for his position as Co-founder, & Executive Producer of Undermine Records, where he manages their releases and Artist relations. In addition to label work, Jay produces a diverse variety of Dance Remixes, Mashups & Singles. Jay's productions have earned him notable support from the dance music industry, and landed him on some great releases including a Moist Music compilation, mixed by D:Fuse.
Dave Eggar began to play the cello and piano at age three and performing on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera at age seven. He trained as a classical cellist at The Juilliard School, and later graduated from Harvard University and The Juilliard School's Doctoral Program. He debuted in Carnegie Hall at 15 as the youngest winner in the history of the Artists International competition. He has appeared throughout the world as a classical soloist, including concerto appearances at Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall, London’s Barbican Center, the Paris Opera, and the Hollywood Bowl.
Eggar has performed and recorded with artists in numerous genres, including The Who, Coldplay, John Denver, Ornette Coleman, Josh Groban, Roberta Flack, Bon Jovi, Michael Brecker, Phil Ramone, Dave Sanborn, Abbey Lincoln, Luciano, Sly and Robbie, Lucia Micarelli, Dianne Reeves, Alex Skolnick, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Brandy, Hannah Montana, Beyonce, Fall Out Boy, Pearl Jam, The Spin Doctors, Manhattan Transfer, Carly Simon, Duncan Sheik, Sinéad O'Connor, Kathleen Battle, edibleRed, Breaking Benjamin, Ray Lamontagne, Manhattan Transfer, Bebel Gilberto, Chris Potter, Linda Eder , Gil Goldstein, Eugenia Zuckerman, Lyfe Jennings and Corinne Bailey Ray. He has toured extensively as the solo cellist with the rock band Evanescence and with singer Amy Lee, including performances on The View, PBS, The Tonight Show, MTV and VH1.
